The Instant of Knowing
We all have all experienced that moment when a switch “flips” inside us and that nagging feeling hiding in the corner of our mind is illuminated with perfect clarity. Truth emerges like a superhero to rescue us from the bonds of doubt. That moment when all the pieces of the puzzle come together to form the picture that reveals our inner longing and reflects a truth about how we move through our world.
What if we were to drop the emotional shield, we have been using to protect us from igniting the flame of recognition? Sometimes we may discover that a relationship, job, or belief are standing in the way of our best self. Scary stuff, letting go of the known in favor of the unknown.
The best analogy I can find is imagining that you are living in a run-down apartment in a sketchy neighborhood, paying an exorbitant rent. The expectation is that you can’t look for a better living situation because this is the best that you can do. That belief becomes the landlord. It sets the rent; it controls the lease and it keeps you from even looking at other options. Doesn’t matter if we insert the term relationship, job, or spiritual belief.
Why don’t humans run through their mental landscape turning on every light and throwing open every door? Why do we prioritize the fear of what might be lost over all the potential gains? Our nervous system is built for survival, not expansion. What happens when we dare to choose expansion? What do we do when expansion chooses us?
When I do activation of dormant gifts and abilities with clients, a process that involves removing all the debris (the fear, conditioning, trauma, inherited beliefs, and emotional residue) piled in front of the gateway to our natural abilities to be able to open the door. Once the door is open, there are two options. Training in how reliably keep the door open and utilize those nature abilities or slam it closed and put a padlock on it.
There is a great deal of hand ringing going on in the news about the thousand-and one-ways humanity is heading for a cliff of extinction. Nothing I can say is going to change anyone’s mindset. Beliefs don’t change even in the face of charts, graphs, and evidence. They change when the inner landscape chooses Light. We are the observers of a unique period in human evolution. Humanity is approaching the moment where the inner landscape chooses a new truth.
I have seen several moments of spontaneous remission in my career from folks who were given dire diagnoses. In every case, it was not reliant on my work, even if my ego would like to take credit. In every single case, the healing occurred because the client could absolutely see, feel and experience themselves in the future – well, happy, alive, and whole. They chose to pry the lock off the door and walk through it leaving a limiting belief behind. The inner landscape reorganized itself around a new truth, they are not the disease.
Healing doesn’t happen because someone wants to live. Healing happens because someone finally believes they can. Because in the End, only the Love Remains.
